Upcoming Events in the Community

Salato Center Events:

August 4 Meet a Critter

The Salato Wildlife Education Center is home to more critters than first meets the eye.  We also have animals which the educational staff uses in programs including snakes, raptors and a striped skunk.  Join us Saturday at 11 a.m. and see who feels like making an appearance.  No registration required. Cost: Free.

August 18 Reptile Rendezvous

Join us Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m. for an up close, hands-on program to learn more about Kentucky’s reptiles.  Snakes are only part of the fascinating world of reptiles.  Despite having a bad reputation, snakes are beneficial to our environment.  They eat insects, mice and other small creatures that we commonly consider pests.  We’ll discover some of our native turtles, too!  Come learn about common reptiles in your area and how to identify them.  No registration required. Cost: Free.
